Host Bruce Rainnie\, Hall of Fame CEO and CBC broadcaster\, will welcome the 2021 inductees to their place of honour in the Hall of Fame with candid on-stage interviews\, video tributes\, and award presentations. This event is always inspiring and heartwarming. Join us in congratulating the newest Hall of Famers and learning their incredible stories. The 2021 inductees who will be honoured at this event are: \n\nRichard Dalton (Ireland): Olympic paddler and three-time World Championship bronze medallist\nTodd Hallett (Shelburne): Three-time Olympian and Commonwealth gold-medallist\nRobert Putnam (Brookfield): Star pitcher and four-time National Senior Men’s Fastball medal-winner\nTed Upshaw (Three Mile Plains): Two-time All-Canadian and CIAU basketball scoring and rebounding leader\nMark Dacey 2004 Brier-winning curling team (Mark Dacey\, Andrew Gibson\, Matt Harris\, Rob Harris\, Bruce Lohnes\, and Peter Corkum\nCathy Mason (Stellarton): Special Olympics coach\, team manager and mission staff member\nBrian Todd (Halifax): Olympic and Paralympic sailing coach\n\n*Please note the time change* Doors will open at 6:30pm\, ceremony starts promptly at 8pm. DESCRIPTION:Presented by the Nova Scotia Sport Hall of Fame and Hockey Canada\, meet the stars of Canada’s national women’s hockey team! \nMeet and hear stories from Team Canada players and coaches\, including Marie-Philip Poulin\, Sarah Nurse\, Natalie Spooner\, Blayre Turnbull of Stellarton\, Assistant Coach Kori Cheverie of New Glasgow\, and Head Coach Troy Ryan of Spryfield. The evening will feature stories and messages from players\, coaches and trailblazing TSN broadcaster Kenzie Lalonde\, followed by a meet-and-great session that will allow student ticket holders the opportunity for photos and autographs. Doors open at 6pm. Tickets are limited.

The 2025 inductees who will be honoured at this event are: \nColleen Jones\, Curling\, Halifax: One of the greatest curlers in the history of the sport\, Colleen Jones is a six-time national champion and 2-time world champion. \nRalph Hollett\, Boxing\, Halifax: A three-time Canadian Middleweight Champion\, Ralph Hollett had a career record of 19 wins\, 10 losses\, and 1 draw. This will be a posthumous induction. \n1979 Saint Mary’s Huskies Men’s Basketball Team: Considered one of the finest teams in the history of University Men’s basketball\, the SMU Huskies of 1979 defeated the University of Victoria Vikings in the national championship game. Team members include: Mickey Fox\, Kevin Wood\, Percy Davis\, Ross Quackenbush\, Tom Kappos\, Rick Plato\, Derrick Lewis\, Jeff Gourlay\, Brian Heaney (Head Coach\, Jim Collins and Willie Follette (Assistant Coaches)\, and John Landry (Manager). \n1982 Red Fox Senior Women’s Basketball Team: The only women’s basketball team in the history of the province to win a national title. At the senior national championship in 1982\, the team went undefeated in five games. Team members include: Elizabeth (Hampden) McKenna\, Patti (Langille) Hutchison\, Anne Murray\, Carol Rosenthall\, Erica Weatherbie\, Jodan Hayes\, Donna Hobin\, Debbie Wright\, Jill Tasker\, Caritha Greeley\, Kathy MacPherson\, Bruce and Scott MacCulloch (Sponsors)\, Alan Waye and Jimmy Naugler (Coaches)\, and Wendy Gardiner (Manager). \nBev Greenlaw\, Basketball\, Grand Pré: Coach of the 1987 Men’s Basketball Team that won gold at the Canada Games; coach of Acadia’s Women’s Team\, 2008-2015; coach of Dalhousie’s Men’s Team\, 1987-1994. \nMike MacKay\, Basketball/Football\, Truro: While at Cobequid Education Centre\, he coached the girls’ basketball team to 11 provincial finals and 7 championships AND the boys’ football team to 12 finals and 8 titles. \nDoors will open at 5:30pm\, ceremony starts promptly at 7pm. Reception will follow from 8:45 to 10pm\, giving attendees a chance to mingle with inductees. Please note that this event is not a dinner.
