A member of a prominent Donkin, Nova Scotia sports family, David Amadio began his career in the Glace Bay Youth Hockey Association. He developed his hockey skills with the Hamilton Junior Cubs of the OHA before heading to the NHL with the Detroit Red Wings.

Throughout his career Amadio has had stints with the Hershey Bears, Edmonton Flyers, Sudbury Wolves, Springfield Wolves, Los Angeles Kings, Denver Spurs, Kansas City Blues, Salt Lake Golden Eagles, and Seattle Totems.

He is also noted as an author of “The Springfield Revolt” of 1967 which led indirectly to formation of the NHL Player’s Association.

David Amadio passed away in April 1981.
