Duncan Big Train MacIntyre of Sydney, Nova Scotia, was a winger whose on-ice talents won him recognition as a premier player in provincial hockey circles. He was one of the greatest hockey players in the history of St. Francis Xavier University, leading them to many championships during his stay at the school.

MacIntyre also played senior hockey with the Antigonish Bulldogs of the APC (Antigonish-Pictou-Colchester) League before moving on to be a standout with the Sydney Millionaires in the Cape Breton Senior and Maritime Major Leagues. His play with the Millionaires attracted the top talent scouts from across the region and the country. He had tryouts with both the Detroit Red Wings and the Montreal Canadiens. Duncan MacIntyre was inducted into the Nova Scotia Sport Hall of Fame in 1996.

Duncan passed away on June 11th, 2014.
