In 1927, after curling in a careful steady style, the Macneill rink Jim Donahoe (lead), Cliff Torey (second), Al MacInnes (mate), Murray Macneill (skip), and Harry Pyke won the highest honour in Canadian curling: the MacDonald Brier Tankard. The team boasted a fine record six wins and one loss to capture this prestigious award from the Sarnia, Ontario club 13-9 in the final. The rink was the first to win the coveted MacDonald Brier Tankard, and, in 1973, the team was elected to the Canadian Curling Hall of Fame as a tribute to its outstanding accomplishment.
