One of the top Maritime hockey players of his day, Neil Amadio displayed his talent across Atlantic Canada and into Quebec. Amadio began his junior career in Cape Breton playing with the Glace Bay Miners where he then moved to Quebec for the 1950-51 season. He played for the Quebec Citadelles of the Quebec Junior League teaming up with future NHLers like Jean Belliveau.

Neil Amadio returned home once again play for the Glace Bay Miners, but this time for the Maritime Major Hockey League. After being released in his third season, Amadio was called up by the Sydney Millionaires during the playoffs to face his former team. The Millionaires won that series and moved on to face Halifax when Amadio scored what proved to be the final goal ever scored in the Maritime Major Hockey League.

He moved on to Newfoundland where it is said his name is on every hockey trophy. Amadio won championships serving as both player and coach for Grand Falls and Belle Isle. While playing, Amadio also coached high school and junior hockey teams leading to junior title wins in both 1960 and 1962.

Neil Amadio passed away in 2004 after a courageous battle with Cancer.
