Roy Chisholm was a well-known name in the Maritime boxing circuit. He was not considered a very “big” puncher, but he was clever and quick in the ring. His opponents could never anticipate where he would strike next.
Chisholm was a featherweight, but he often accepted bouts fighting in the welterweight class. He was the Maritime Professional Boxing Champion for many years as well the featherweight boxing champion of Eastern Canada from 1923 until 1930. Chisholm fought many bouts all over Canada and the United States.
After retiring as a professional he went on to coach at Dalhousie University. Roy Chisholm is an Original Nova Scotia Sport Hall of Fame Inductee.
