Sandy McMullin was from Glace Bay, Nova Scotia. He was an excellent rugby player, playing for Caledonia in the 1930’s. McMullin was a member of the greatest-ever Caledonia rugby team in 1933, along with fellow Hall of Famers Alex MacDonald and “Coot” MacLean. This team was renowned as the Maritime Champions and undefeated Eastern Canadian Champions that year.
McMullin would have gone on to enjoy a long sporting career, but Glace Bay lost one of its finest athletes at a very young age, due to accidental death by electrocution. He is remembered, however, for his outstanding performance with the Caledonia team in the seasons he spent with them. Sandy McMullin is an Original Nova Scotia Sport Hall of Fame Inductee.
