Vida Large, of Halifax, Nova Scotia has been an impressive performer in badminton throughout her entire career. She has been the recipient of most of the trophies presented in Nova Scotia and in the Maritimes. She has won 16 ladies doubles championships and in 1959-60, she ranked fifth in singles in Canada. She has only ever been defeated twice in singles play in Nova Scotia.

She was also a five-time singles Nova Scotia tennis champion, a nine-time doubles champion and an eight-time mixed doubles champion eight. She has served as secretary-treasurer of both the Nova Scotia Badminton Association and the Nova Scotia Lawn Tennis Association. Vida Large was inducted into the Nova Scotia Sport Hall of Fame in 1980.
