Lewis Shaw was born in Windsor, Nova Scotia, in 1879. He was one of the province’s greatest hockey players in the years prior to World War I. Shaw was sought after by several professional teams, but declined to play for any of them.

He died in his hometown of Windsor in 1947 at the age of 68. Shaw is an Original Sport Hall of Fame Inductee.
