Arthur Brady was born in Halifax, Nova Scotia, on January 1, 1868. Brady was an excellent skater and one of Nova Scotia’s talented track and field stars.

During his track and field career, Brady received many trophies and prizes for winning several important races and events. One of the most spectacular prizes that he won was a pair of initialed gold cuff links.

While Arthur lived in Nova Scotia he was a jeweller and worked for the newspaper that preceded The Chronicle Herald. He died in 1950 at the age of 82 and is an original Sport Hall of Fame inductee.
