Dorothy Holmes dominated the provincial and Maritime golf scene for five years in the early 1930’s. She was the four-time runner up for the Nova Scotia Golf Championship and a twice (1929 and 1934) winner of the Maritime Ladies Golf title. Holmes was inducted into the Nova Scotia Sport Hall of Fame in 1980.

Dorothy passed away in October 1987.
