Ernie Mosher was born in Windsor, Nova Scotia in 1904. An intelligent and quick centre, Ernie helped lead the Windsor Senior Hockey Team to the first Nova Scotia Senior Hockey Championship in 1922. With the aid of Mosher, his team were second-time champions in 1923. In 1924, Mosher played one season for the Boston Maples in the U.S.H.L, but returned to his Windsor team the following year.

Mosher began playing his first of four consecutive seasons with the Kentville Wildcats in 1927. He quickly tied for the E.H.L scoring title and was a part of one of the most famous forward lines in hockey history, the KMK line. (His fellow linemates were George and Waldo Kennedy.) Ernie went on to play one season with the Fredericton Millionaires of the New Brunswick Senior League, before signing with the Halifax Wolverines of the newly-established Big Four Maritime Senior Hockey League.

The League’s first year was in 1933 and Mosher was one of the first players to sign with them. Ernie Mosher is the only Valley native to have his name on the Allan Cup and was said to have “brought a combination of dazzling speed and brains to hockey and possessed all the great qualities of a good player.” Ernie Mosher is an original member of the Nova Scotia Sport Hall of Fame.
