Middleton-born Gerry MacMillan has starred in Nova Scotia golf for almost 35 years. He’s won provincial titles at every level, from juvenile and junior, to open and mid-amateur. He was runner-up nationally in juvenile play and finished third in Canadian junior competition.

It was in the open men’s level where Gerry made his mark. In 1976, Gerry won the first of his seven N.S. Amateur Championships, winning again in 1977, 1983, 1992, 1995, 1997, and 1998. He was runner-up six times.

Gerry was named to the provincial golf team 19 times between 1972 and 2001. With partners John Randles and Ed Dumeah, he captured the N.S. Four Ball Championship five times, more times than anyone else. He won the N.S. MMid-Amateur(age 40 and over) in 1995, 1998, 2000 and 2001, and holds the record with nine appearances on the N.S. Mid Amateur Team.

In 1999, he led the team to the Canadian championship while placing third individually. He was superintendent of Paragon Golf and Country Club in Kingston, Nova Scotia for 18 years.
