Gladys and Annie Longard could have entered the Hall of Fame as athletes with 37 local, provincial, and regional singles and doubles badminton championships. They also reached the semi-final in singles and doubles categories at nationals. They have competed across Canada and throughout the world.
As builders, the Longard sisters have been the backbone of the Nova Scotia Badminton Association for many years. They have served in every executive post; edited and published newsletters; and coached, organized, and promoted their favourite sport from the largest city club to the smallest rural outfit.
