A native of Westville, Nova Scotia John Clark became known as “Nova Scotia’s Man-About-Bases.” Never playing minor ball, he quickly established himself as a man to watch in senior ranks. Throughout his 20-year career, from 1943-1963, Clark had many accomplishments.

In his career which spanned twenty years (1943-196), Clark had much of which to be proud. In 1946, he played with the Truro Bearcats, winning the home run title and leading the team to the provincial title. After finishing second in the Halifax & District League batting race in 1949 and 1950, Clark played in New Brunswick in 1952 with Buddy Condy. He returned to play with the 1954 Halifax Cardinals, who won the Maritime championship that year.

With his career drawing to a close, Clark played with the Dartmouth Arrows in 1962, leading them to the Maritime title. He also played the following year with the Halifax Mets, winning the Nova Scotia title with that team. It was during the 1963 season that Clark hit his last home run, twenty years after beginning his fine career. John Clark was elected to the Nova Scotia Sport Hall of Fame in 1981.
