John Cechetto built an outstanding reputation as a developer of boxing talent in his native town of Sydney, Cape Breton.

As operator of Sydney’s Venetian Garden Club, Cechetto trained Canadian champions Francis (Rocky) MacDougall, Tyrone Gardiner, and Ronnie Sampson. He made a major contribution as a superb teacher of Nova Scotia Boxing talent.
