The Jubilee Four-Oared Rowing Crew of 1930 beat local rivals for the chance to go to Hamilton to compete in the trials for the British Empire Games. They beat the favoured Montreal team by three lengths to get into the final. The scull crew was successful in the trails and went on to compete in the Games. They finished with a silver medal between England (first) and New Zealand (third).

Members of the crew were: Bert Bellew, Jerry Calnan, Jim Flemming, and Henry Pelham.
