Lawson Fowler was born in Parrsboro, Nova Scotia in 1912, and by all accounts was the best second baseman of his time. As a member of the Springhill Fencebusters and Halifax Shipyards, Fowler had tremendous range in the field. He executed the double play masterfully and stroked the ball consistently well in the toughest situations.
Lawson Fowler was inducted into the Nova Scotia Sport Hall of Fame in 1980.
Lawson passed away on October 22nd, 2010.
