Peter Hope, of Dartmouth, Nova Scotia, during an 11-year span between 1958 to 1969 captured five Nova Scotia Amateur golf championships, two Maritime Amateur golf championships, a Nova Scotia Open championship, and a Maritime Open championship. He was the Nova Scotia golfer of the year several times and served as an alternate on Canada’s world amateur golf team in 1962 and the Commonwealth golf team in 1966.
His curling career saw him as a member of a Dartmouth Curling Club rink that won a provincial and maritime junior curling championship and five Nova Scotia Consol championships. Peter Hope was inducted into the Nova Scotia Sport Hall of Fame in 1990.
