Sherman White was one of the great hockey players of his era in Nova Scotia. He played intermediate hockey at the age of 13 and played professional hockey for 23 years before retiring in 1964. His career carried him throughout North America as he saw service in the Quebec Senior League, Eastern Pro League, Maritime Senior League, and an NHL tryout with the New York Rangers.
White finished third in scoring with Chicoutimi in the Quebec Senior League and won the league’s most gentlemanly player award. Sherman White was inducted into the Nova Scotia Sport Hall of Fame in 1980.
