Sidney Roy, of Westville, Nova Scotia is among the several outstanding local players who starred on the 1951-53 Stellarton Albions. Roy was a pitcher who possessed a crackling curve to go with a sizzling fastball. He had razor-like control, especially when under pressure. Whenever there was a big game to be played, Roy pitched it.

He began his career playing junior baseball for the Westville Miners and also played briefly with Pictou. He later returned to play senior ball with the Miners in the Central League against Stellarton, Springhill, and Kentville. Roy joined the Albions of the H&D League in 1951 and was an instant success with his pitching and bat. He helped lead the Albions to three straight H&D League championships. Sidney Roy was inducted into the Nova Scotia Sport Hall of Fame in 1989.

Sidney passed away on July 8th, 1995.
