Tommy Little was born on January 16, 1883. His first experience with hockey was in 1904 with the Willows. After one year with the Willows, Little moved up to the Halifax Crescents. He quickly became one of the “premier” players on what was considered the best team of the decade.

With the help of Little, Neady Weaver, Jack Condon, Frank Condon, and Ves Laing, The Crescents won three championships in 1907 – Nova Scotia Senior Hockey League, Halifax League, and Halifax and Dartmouth League. Little “had a style unequaled in Canada for he seldom skated to get a score”. He seemed to run on the blades of his skates, which amazed the usual capacity crowds.

He was offered professional contracts by the Ottawa Senators, the Montreal Wanderers, and by members of the National Hockey Association. Little remained with the strong local teams until the war. He did not return to the game following the war, but remained an ardent fan. Tommy Little passed away on January 31, 1952, at the age of 69.
