Vaughan Black was an outstanding rugby player in the late 1800’s and the early 1900’s. He was an excellent halfback who possessed great speed and endurance. Vaughan had quick moves on the field and always kept his opponents guessing as to where his next step or pass would be.
Black played rugby for the 1902 Deceivers Athletic Club in Amherst, Nova Scotia, which later became the Ramblers Athletic Club. Vaughan is an Original member of the Nova Scotia Sport Hall of Fame.
