Wyman Porter was from Kentville, Nova Scotia. He was a very powerful athlete, standing over six feet tall. He was a hockey official, refereeing many big games, and a scorekeeper for the local baseball league. Wyman Porter was also an organizer for all branches of sport in Kentville. In addition, he served many years as a journalist and sports correspondent in the Valley.
